I am a sucker for routine...

Yah, I admit it. I love routine...regimen...and I might have even loved boot camp. I cannot wait for the school year to start. Most of my friends are the other way around...they love their kids and want to have all the lazy days of summer last and last, and have endless play dates, and beach days and swimming club days. Not me, no sir! Oh, don't get me wrong. I do love my kids, more than anything. But, the 11 year old is bored out of her gourd, and the 4 year old needs structure. Like me.

I always found that the more I had to do in a day, the more I got done. Now, I just come home from work, and dilly dally. Dinner does not get cooked, my side business does not get tended to, and my children run amok. With the advent of the school year, I will be forced to get 2 kids up, dressed, fed and myself up, dressed and made-up, and out the door by 7:45 am. I love it! Ahhhh, the challenge! And the victory!! Then, off to work, pick up kids at school, home for homework, or after-school activities, dinner, some fun with the kids, bedtime, and then business time for me. Sleep, get up, and do it all again. A nice, hectic, life-straining, patience-wearing routine. But, oh so satisfying. And even more challenging if I have a few Stella & Dot parties at night here and there...

So...farewell, lazy, hazy days of summer...and helloooooo satisfying, crazy, time-consuming, crisp, fun-filled, work-inducing days of fall!!!
